Everyone is working hard to get six-pack abs! Myself included!! Here are some ways that have helped me along the way! I’ve lost 7 inches off my waisting and counting!
1. Avoid Sugar!
When you eat a lot of refined sugar, the liver gets flooded with fructose, and is forced to turn it all into fat! Things like sugary foods, drinks, and anything with added sugar will NOT help you lose belly fat!
2. Eat More Protein!!
Protein is the most important macronutrient when it comes to losing weight.
It has been shown to reduce cravings by 60%, boost metabolism by 80-100 calories per day and help you eat up to 441 fewer calories per day.
If weight loss is your goal, then adding protein to your diet is perhaps the single most effective change you can do.
3. Sleep!!
If you're among the 30% of Americans who sleep less than six hours a night, here's one simple way to whittle your waistline: catch more Zs. A 16-year study of almost 70,000 women found that those who slept five hours of less a night were 30% more likely to gain 30 or more pounds than those who slept 7 hours. The National Institutes of Health suggest adults sleep seven to eight hours a night.
4. Train HARDER!!
To rid stubborn belly fat, you have to ramp up your workouts!!
In a study published in the journal Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise, people who completed a high-intensity workout regime lost more belly fat than those who followed a low-intensity plan. I love using HIIT workouts because it is a FULL intensity workout, for less time, with great results!
5. Eat More Fat!
Yaaaasss! It actually takes fat to burn fat. Like I said above, it’s sugar that gets you fat, not fat. Good fats include foods rich in Omega 3′s, like salmon, avocados & walnuts. These foods are full of nutrients that help keep you satiated throughout the day.
